Where do you serve?

We are based on the beautiful Central Coast of California. With our office in Santa Maria, we can provide technical support to clients from Santa Barbara to Atascadero! Web Design: The great thing about the web is that we can serve our clients half way around the world! With online meetings, we can get to know and design for anybody, anywhere.

Does Onsite have a store front/office location?

No, Onsite Computers & Design does just that, we come to you! (We do have a place to do work, so don’t worry, we won’t be doing our books from your office!) We are more than happy to come out and meet with you at your place of business, or home, and work on your machine there, or bring it back to our workspace if more time is required.

Do I get charged travel time?

Onsite has a 30-minute grace period. We are located in Santa Maria, and if travel time is less than 30 minutes, then we do not charge for travel, if it exceeds the 30 minutes, then we charge for only one way.

How long have you been in business?

We have been in business since 2004.

Do you offer payment plans?

Only on projects larger than $1,000, and have been proposed. We expect 50% of the agreed upon amount at the beginning of the project, and the remaining balance as the project is completed, or four months from the date the contract is originally signed, whichever is sooner. We offer this payment plan to help make the website you want more affordable.

Are your Web Design costs one time?

Yes, once your site is designed and built, it is your website.

Do you have your own servers?

Yes, we actually have two: a dedicated web server, and a dedicated email server. Both servers are located at a secure Datacenter.

Do I have to host with you?
No, we do not make hosting with us mandatory, and are happy to design for any host. However, choosing to host with us is a huge advantage for you! You will not have to worry about any technical aspects of managing your hosting; we take care of that for you. You also only have to deal with one company for your entire online web presence.
What is domain registration?

Every website requires a domain name, that is the web address that is linked to your site. Domain names are controlled by ICANN – a non-profit corporation who oversees the domain name registration system. A domain is registered on a yearly basis and must be renewed before it is expired. You can register a domain for multiple years at one time (up to ten years) – this saves you money and gives you peace of mind.

What is private registration?

ICANN requires personal or business contact information to be registered with your domain name, including name, email address, phone number, mailing address. By Default this information is published in the who-is database, for all to see, which can lead to spammers getting that information. If you register privately, your information is not made public.

What is an SSL certificate?

Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Certificate – when attached to a website, it creates a secure connection from your website to the client’s web browser. Strongly recommended for any e-commerce website or website containing sensitive information.

Can I get an SSL certificate for my website?
Absolutely, we can purchase an SSL certificate for any website. Like domain names, they are a yearly renewal to obtain the certificate. We can provide certificates for $100 a year.
